The Future of Psychology

3 DAY WEBINAR SERIES & ONLINE CONFERENCE

January 2022

I was asked to host and facilitate this very special 3 day virtual conference for the Psychology Department at Nottingham Trent University working alongside organiser Jessica S. Dunn, Ph.D.

The virtual event which ran across three days attracting over two hundred students and included panel discussions with fourteen speakers, two of which joined us live and online from Kenya & Singapore, one of which was ‘Trust & Safety Program Manager’ for Tik Tok Jayson Chia (an ex student of Jessica’s)

It’s amazing how the virtual world helps us form & establish relationships before we meet in the real world & this was a wonderful example of that.

Lockdown Lunchtime Laughter Session for Upscaler Project

During lockdown I was asked to facilitate a virtual well-being session with a difference aptly named ‘The lunchtime laughter session’ for the D2N2 Growth Hub East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire) Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University Upscaler project & boy was there a LOT of fun & laughter...

I kicked the sesh off with some brain training exercises to encourage participants to reconnect with their inner child & to release their limiting beliefs in order to master their mindset & inspire creative thinking...& yes I did use a pineapple 🍍

This was then followed by a super positive session from the ladies at LOL Laughterworks Denise Tooley-Okonkwo who got us all moving in our chairs, cheering & laughing out loud for no apparent reason at all!

Global Responsibility Week

March 2021

What an honour it was to be asked to host & facilitate the first online networking event for ‘Global Responsibility Week’ for Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University yesterday with professors joining us from across the globe, from Sweden to India, from France to Italy, from Bulgaria to Canada, from South Africa to Brazil and what a friendly collection of academics all with one goal: to stay connected at a distance.

The aim of the event was to create a platform to encourage the strengthening of existing relations & to create opportunities for new International collaborations & partnerships around student projects, research of curriculum & teaching practises.

I managed to have in depth conversations with two very interesting professors from Brazil and Bulgaria who specialised in various areas, with a focus on the integration of mindfulness & happiness in business & innovation - the stuff that really does make the world go around.

Networking for Success Nottingham Business School

November 2020 + February 2021

I was asked to create, host and facilitate Nottingham Business School's very first online hybrid networking training session & event ‘Networking for success’ in November 2020 and then again in February 2021 following our successful debut.

Business students from all over the world connected through the screen, most admitting they were nervous to begin with having never attended a networking event before. I ran a poll at the end of the session & 100% stated that they couldn’t wait to start their online networking journey following the event.

Nothing pleases me more than seeing the nerves transform into happy faces on the screen, mics being unmuted and engagement being made, confidence increasing, new connections and friendships being formed & support for one another being shown.

Truly inspiring.

RSViP Online Events

March 2020 saw me have to take my events online for the foreseeable due to the Covid-19 pandemic, meaning the format had to change somewhat to fit through the screen and this continued for the year to come.

Many of our RSViP members joined us each month for our online sessions which were hosted by myself and brand strategist Matt Davies.

During this time, Matt and I interviewed over sixty industry experts from journalists to independent business owners, to corporates to television stars, with the intention of keeping people connected and talking.

In this time we connected over 600 people through the screen before events were finally legally allowed to return in July 2021.
